There are pretty villages and hamlets to be discovered everywhere in this area such as Bretenoux, Carennac, Loubressac, Martel and Turenne. The wonderful Chateaux of Castlenau, Montal, Belcastel and La Treyne are a well worth a visit. You can also visit some of the many caves in the area including the Gouffre De Padirac, which you can explore both on foot or by boat, with its largest stalactite reaching an amazing 75m long. Just down the road is Carennac which is with out doubt one of the most beautiful villages along this part of the Dordogne Valley, best known for its Romanesque Priory Church founded in the 11th century by Benedictine monks. The amazing sites of Rocamadour are close by and a good day out. ACTIVITIES Both properties are with in a short distance of the Dordogne River, with canoing and fishing available. There are a number of water - sport parks in the area, including an Aqua Park which is only a 10 minute drive away. Several golf courses are situated close by including Saint Cere and Souilliac which is an 18 hole course. Many of the villages have summer fêtes and music festivals bringing them alive on a summers evening.
